“What better time to commit to a healthy walk in the countryside!
The walk we have arranged initially takes us through the pretty village of Ayot Green
before
reaching a delightful walk along the old Welwyn Garden to Wheathampstead railway
line.
If it is wet, then one section following the railway walk could be a bit muddy, so
please
wear suitable walking shoes. We’ll then descend to the valley of the river
Lea before entering
the grounds of Brocket Hall, making our way back to the pub through
the golf course.
The walk is 4 miles, no stiles, no cattle, but a couple of moderate upward gradients,
where
we can take it a little slower. The pub has a good and varied menu,
and the usual
club supplement will be provided to the walkers.
If you intend joining us then please advise before 4 April as we need to confirm
numbers
to the pub beforehand. We will choose from the menu when we return.
There
will be no facilities available at the pub beforehand as it does not open until 11.00.
Contact details are: esor284.pr@gmail.com or 01462 624151.
On the day: 07742 588624 or 07717 407854.
Hope to see you there.”
