Originally the home of Augustinian Friars, the Priory passed to various private owners,
briefly becoming an Hotel and then a Girls’ School, before being sold to the Air Ministry in 1926.
RAF Fighter Command moved in from 1936 and the site played a pivotal role during the Battle of Britain.
The Museum will be opened for our exclusive use, and we have planned the following timetable.
10.00: The venue opens for early birds
11.00: Tea/Coffee & Biscuits served for all in the Café
11.30: Guided Tour (featuring the Priory’s involvement in the Battle of Britain)
12.30+: Communal Light Lunch served in the Café
14.00 -
(The timing may vary from 11.30 if the numbers require the tour to be split into two groups)
There is a strict limit of 50 places, with lunch requirements to be ordered and paid for in advance.
If you haven’t already done so you should first get a message to Penny Scott
on 01582 584756 or at pennyscott100@sky.com as quickly as you can, and then send
your completed booking form and payment to reach her before Friday 28 February 2025.
